Ingredients

  • 1 fresh apple
  • 270 g recipe Flaxseed Base
  • 1/2 cup dehydrated grapes
  • 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
  • 1 cup rolled (old-fashioned) oats

Tablespoons here are 15 ml. An Australian tablespoon is 20 ml — use three teaspoons instead.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the dehydrator to 52 °C . Set drying sheets in two dehydrator trays.
  2. Core the apple, but leave the peel on. Cut into chunks and puree in a blender until smooth. Pour into a medium bowl. Stir in the remaining ingredients until well combined.
  3. Spread half the cracker mixture into a 25.4 cm square on each of the drying sheets, smoothing the surface with a rubber spatula and using a straight edge to get nice edges. Dehydrate for 3 hours.
  4. Remove the trays from the dehydrator and use a pizza wheel or straight edge to cut the squares into 5.1 cm square crackers. Place the trays back in the dehydrator for another 10 hours. When the crackers have completely cooled, snap them apart along the perforated lines. Store as directed .
